Substitute the definition of appropriate authority as follows:
Substitute the definition of designated bushfire prone area as follows:
- has been designated under legislation; or
- has been identified under an environmental planning instrument, development control plan or in the course of processing and determining a development application,
as land that can support a bushfire or is likely to be subject to bushfire attack.

The 1996 edition has been retained for a transitional period ending on 30 April 2022.
Heat alarms complying with the 2018 edition of AS 1603.3 must be of class type A1 or A2.
