Register now for the next ABCB Forums

The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) invites you to attend our ABCB Forums.

These are the next events in a series of forums. The forums are an opportunity to talk to our Board Chair, Glenys Beauchamp AO PSM, and CEO, Gary Rake, about any aspect of our work.

Our previous 2 forums have been held in a hybrid format (an in-person event also live-streamed). However, the next forums will be held as separate in-person and online events. The Tuesday 19 March event will be in-person only and the Thursday 4 April event being online only.

In the first few months of 2024, the ABCB is meeting with industry associations and professional bodies. These discussions are to provide an idea of what to expect with the upcoming proposed changes to the next edition of the National Construction Code (NCC). 

Following on from the industry meetings, these forums are an opportunity to share information with a broader industry audience. Glenys and Gary will discuss a few key topics that are likely to be included in the upcoming NCC Public Comment Draft. Read more in the January CEO Update. 

In person event – Melbourne 

The Melbourne forum will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2 – 5 pm (AEDT) on Tuesday 19 March 2024.

The registration desk will be open from 1:30 pm (AEDT) with the forum to begin at 2 pm.

Note: this event will not be live-streamed. 

Registrations for this event are essential. The event is free to attend, however, places are limited.

Online event

The online forum will be held from 2 – 4 pm (AEDT)on Thursday 4 April 2024. 

Registration is essential for this event. Details about how to join the forum will be sent by email prior to the event.

This series of ABCB Forums is a new initiative, beginning in August 2023. 

These events are part of the ABCB’s commitment to building and retaining the confidence and trust of the people and organisations who have an interest in our work. 

These forums are opportunity to understand more about our strategic direction and the way we make decisions. Your feedback will help shape our work program and the advice we prepare for Building Ministers.

We invite you to join these events to ask questions about the work of the ABCB and provide feedback. 

Noting the forum panel is the Chair and CEO, the forums aren’t the best place to ask detailed questions about technical aspects of the National Construction Code.
