NCC: Developing Performance Solutions

The National Construction Code also known as the NCC contains mandatory Performance Requirements [Graphic: Book open at page with

A Performance Solution is an option which may be used to satisfy these Performance Requirements. Text: Performance Solution Process guidance document] the ABCB has produced this guidance document. [Graphic: simple diagram of internal plumbing in house and office buildings] It can be used for both simple and complex performance-based designs with the length and complexity of the process being proportional to the complexity of the design. Step 1 - The brief. [Graphic: overhead view of stakeholders seated at a round table with brief document in the centre] Developing a brief requires project stakeholders to collaborate and agree on a pathway for the design process to follow. Step 3 - Evaluation. Step 4 - Reporting.
